Its that time of year again, one of my favourite international meetings the 2015 Breeders' Cup from Keeneland.
Live in the UK on ATR.
Below you will find tips for all Breeders' Cup races on Saturday along with a write up for each.
4.05pm UK time: 14 HANDS WINERY BREEDERS' CUP JUVENILE FILLIES (GRADE 1) 1m110y
This race heavily revolves around two, Songbird and Rachel's Valentina both very talented individuals. We'll start with Rachel's Valentina daughter of Rachel Alexandra who looks sure to improve at a trip that she's bred for. Grade 1 winner at Saratoga over 7f in the dirt, Tap To It was 2nd in this race. If she improves she has a huge chance of winning but I am siding with the Jerry Hollendorfer trained SONGBIRD (WON @ 5/6) who does have a wide draw to overcome but has won her last 2 Grade 1 races by lengths and with Mike Smith onboard she is a winner in my eyes.
4.45pm UK time: TWINSPIRES BREEDERS' CUP TURF SPRINT (GRADE 1) 5f110y
Wesley Ward has 3 runners in this, Undrafted no doubt the talk horse out of his runners but I am going to side with GREEN MASK (3RD) who I believe the betting will forget about. 3rd in the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan won by Sole Power (Dettori rode Green Mask in that race). Today Joel Rosario takes the ride. The run at Kentucky Downs last month should make him better for this.
5.25pm UK time: TWINSPIRES BREEDERS' CUP FILLY & MARE SPRINT (GRADE 1) 7f
I'm going with the Chad Brown trained WAVELL AVENUE (WON @ 11/1) who may have La Verdad to deal with again. Was 1/2 lengh 2nd to La Verdad last month at Belmont but I don't think the 7f is to La Verdad's advantage and I can see Wavell Avenue getting the better of her.
6.10pm UK time: BREEDERS' CUP FILLY & MARE TURF (GRADE 1) 1m110y
The french can take this one with the well named MISS FRANCE trained by Andre Fabre. I don't see any problems with the trip as she should stay. Loves coming 2nd but shes ready to break that streak now. The other french runner Queen's Jewel is also a one to watch in this.
6.50pm UK time: TWINSPIRES BREEDERS' CUP SPRINT (GRADE 1) 6f
If RUNHAPPY (WON @ 9/4) gets out the gates well then he could take this. Won his last 4, most recently at Keeneland over 6f on dirt beating the older brigade. Gate issue a worry but he's still the pick.
7.30pm UK time: BREEDERS' CUP MILE (GRADE 1) 1m
Again like the Filly & Mare Turf I can see this going to France with MAKE BELIEVE the pick. Recent Prix de la Foret winner. French 2000 Guineas winner.
8.10pm UK time: SENTIENT JET BREEDERS' CUP JUVENILE (GRADE 1) 1m110yd
The unbeaten NYQUIST (WON @ 11/2) is the pick, his last 2 at Grade 1 level. He's beat Swipe (runs in this) 3 times.
8.50pm UK time: LONGINES BREEDERS' CUP TURF (GRADE 1) 1m4f
After seeing for myself what GOLDEN HORN (2ND) did at Longchamp to win the Arc he has to be the pick. Ground could be an issue but still good enough to win against these.
9.35pm UK time: BREEDERS' CUP CLASSIC (GRADE 1) 1m2f
The scratching of Beholder has surely made this more easy for the Triple Crown legend AMERICAN PHAROAH (WON @ 4/6). Fair play to connections of Gleneagles taking their chance in this but this is AP's to have.
